As you probably know, Essay Fiesta holds a raffle that benefits 826CHI. Raffle prizes have included everything from a Threadless gift certificate to a student-penned novel (from 826, of course) to a home-knitted scarf (thanks Alyson’s aunt!). Our prizes are indeed awesome and raffle tickets are only a dollar, but the biggest win of them all is being able to help this fantastic organization.

All funds go to 826CHI, a non-profit writing and tutoring program that services students all over the Chicagoland area. The organization also hosts writing workshops for students of all ages with titles like: “Super-Star: The Hip-Hop Workshop” and “The Animation Station.” 826 sure knows how to make writing fun!
Representatives from 826CHI will be speaking at Essay Fiesta’s 2nd Anniversary Show this coming Monday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Book Cellar. Come high-five’em for all the stellar work they do!
