As you may know, Essay Fiesta is a charitable reading series that benefits Howard Brown Health Center. It also is a completely FREE show, which is kind of unheard of when it comes to charity shows. How do we do it? How do we not charge at the door?
With raffles!
That’s right. If you have yet to come to an Essay Fiesta, then you might be unaware that each month Alyson and Keith give away three raffle packages: the Grande, the Muy Grande and the Grande Xtreme!
We depend completely on the generosity of local businesses and individuals to supply our raffle. However, we’re sad to say that the prize pool is running pretty low.
If you own a business and have goods or services to donate, work at a business and can donate goods or services, have a cool art/craft/service you can donate or have something worth raffling off sitting around your house or apartment, please contact us. Your item, which might only fetch a few bucks at a pawn shop or Craigslist, could fetch Howard Brown at least $100.
Plus, if you become an Essay Fiesta donor, we’ll promote your business on our Web site and Facebook page. How cool is that? The answer is pretty cool!
