Essay Fiesta loves the vibrant reading community we have here in Chicago. Not only do we enjoy attending other shows and reading at other shows, we enjoy welcoming other show representatives to our show to showcase their shows. And this gal, Deanna Moffitt, runs one of the best shows around.
Deanna is one of the producers of This Much Is True, a monthly reading series that showcases totally true tales from skilled storytellers. It takes place every second Tuesday in the upstairs room at Hopleaf in Andersonville. This Much Is True recently produced the mishmash art event called Interface. If you missed the first one, you’ll have a chance to see this experimental event again in September. In addition to being a storyteller, Deanna is a talented actress, improviser, singer and voice-over talent. Yeah, the girl’s got skillz.
So come out and see Deanna on July 18 at 7 p.m. at the Book Cellar. And don’t forget, we’ll be doing a raffle to benefit 826CHI, a wonderful charity that promotes literacy in public schools.
