Schubas (3159 N. Southport Ave.) is hosting the next installment of the popular series on Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. The show features everyday people reading aloud their most embarrassing, pathetic and private teenage diary entries, poems, love letters, lyrics and locker notes in front of total strangers. You will witness “personal redemption through public humiliation” in a refreshing show that is equal parts comedic, cathartic and voyeuristic. The largest and longest running project of its kind featuring a cast of Chicago’s bravest souls.
This Mortified will feature the talents of Connie Anderko, Emily Gordon, Chanell Ruth, Mare Swallow, Samantha Vincenty, Polina Zionts and Essay Fiesta’s Keith Ecker. The lovely Shay DeGrandis will host.
