Hey Essay Fiesta folks! We’ll be unveiling our October line-up on Thursday. But today, to satiate your appetite for literary information, we are sharing with you a couple shows that are not to be missed.
First, tonight marks the anticipated return of Write Club. Hosted by overlord Ian Belknap, Write Club pits to writers against each other to debate opposing topics. What results is an all-out blood bath, where the blood is substituted with words. That lovely show is tonight at the Hideout.
Then on Friday is the return of Mortified Chicago. This series features a range of presenters reading selected embarrassing materials written in their childhood. Diary entries, bad poetry and old love letters abound. Plus, Essay Fiesta’s very own Keith Eckerwill be performing. That spectacular is at Schubas.
