This week in Chicago is the Just For Laughs Festival. The citywide event welcomes all kinds of personalities from the comedy world, from established veterans such as Steve Martin and Martin Short to local up-and-comers like Dan Telfer and Cameron Esposito. As fate would have it, L.A. comic and friend of Essay Fiesta Mike O’Connell is in town for the festival, and we are very happy to announce that he will be performing as part of the June 20 Essay Fiesta.
Mike O’Connell is the brains behind the fantastic indie film The Living Wake, which is available on Netflix, DVD and Hulu. If you haven’t seen it, then you are doing your eyes a major disservice. He is also a hilarious stand-up comic who is known for his quick wit and boisterous personality. His performances at Essay Fiesta are, in a word, legendary.
