Our July Lineup Keeps the Big Wheels (Of Cheese) Turning

The big wheel of Essay Fiesta cheese is a-rolling into town. Come on down to The Book Cellar tonight – Monday, July 20th at 7pm – for this sharp, nutty lineup :

photoErin Diamond grew up in Arlington Heights in a legendary neighborhood that is filled with stories. She’s now an Uptown Girl. Erin is a proud theater school drop out, book hoarder, and devoted fan of the band Third Eye Blind. She recently co-curated a storytelling show at called ORAL at The Annoyance Theater that finished a successful 10-week run earlier this month. Erin loves Essay Fiesta and Karen. She thinks Willy is nice enough.

Katie Pecho is an aspiring writer who currently works in the totally related field of cyber security. She writes essays, short stories, monologues and bad poetry. Katie is excited to return to Essay Fiesta for her second reading and hopes you enjoy her piece.

James Gordon, better known as G.P.A.(Greatest Poet Alive), is an international award winning author of six books of Poetry and one novel of Mystery. He has performed all over the United States with his scintillating poetry and can be seen on epsidoes of Empire, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Shameless, as well as the movies Animals, A Slice of Life, and Batman vs Superman. Katie Prout lives in Pilsen with 2 bikes and 14 plants. she has been featured as a storyteller or writer at Stoop Style Stories, Guts and Glory, The Moth, Story Club, The Toast, Runners World, and others. You can next see her as an MFA grad student at the University of Iowa this fall.

jac jemcJac Jemc‘s first story collection, A Different Bed Every Time, was named one of Amazon’s Best Short Story Collections of 2014. Her novel, My Only Wife was a finalist for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for Debut Fiction and winner of the Paula Anderson Book Award. She is the nonfiction editor for Hobart Web. Jac teaches fiction at the University of Notre Dame and Northeastern Illinois University.
